The Abrahamic Initiative on the Middle East (AIME - http://www.aimeproject.org/) is sponsoring a scholarship to send an individual as part of a delegation to Israel/Palestine. This delegation is sent by Interfaith Peace-Builders (IFPB - http://www.ifpb.org/) and will occur from October 27th - November 9th 2018. IFPB delegations expose participants to the everyday realities of life for Palestinians and provide ample opportunity for delegates to interact with Palestinians and Israelis working to cultivate peace and justice in the region. This delegation occurs during the olive harvest season and delegates on this trip will view the occupation through the lens of life during the olive harvest. Delegates will also learn about threats to the environment, exploitation of natural resources and the struggle Palestinians have in accessing their land and water.

Interested individuals are invited to apply for a scholarship by contacting Rev. John Heinemeier at johnheinemeier@gmail.com by July 1st, 2018. When applying, please include a letter of interest that details why being part of this delegation is important to you, as well as how you plan to use your personal talents, expertise, and delegation experience to actively advocate for peace and justice in Israel/Palestine. After submitting an application, a meeting will then be scheduled with the applicants to discuss their interest in the trip and to assess the possibility of a scholarship.  The scholarship pays for the cost of the IFPB trip, but the traveler pays for airfare.  If the individual is a student or has financial constraints, partial payment of airfare may be considered. Upon return, scholarship recipients will be expected to engage with AIME and be active within their communities in regard to raising awareness of topics surrounding Israel/Palestine.
