Rally described below.. AIME will also have an opportunity to speak along with our friends and allies from the Kashmiri community, Muslims for Social Justice, Black Workers for Justice, Jewish Voice for Peace and other peace and social justice faith and community leaders. This is an opportunity to bring the Palestine Liberation struggle to this Kashmiri nightmare and help connect the dots. It is no accident that India and Israel's Prime Ministers Modi and Netanhahu are close comrades. Half of India's military equipment purchases come from Israel. And their tools of ethnic cleansing and dispossession are eerily familiar. We will gather by the steps right in front of the capitol. I will be driving and hope others can drive as well so we have a strong showing. I will be speaking as co-chair of the Abrahamic Initiative on the Middle East (AIME), but I hope another AIME working group member or partner organizations will also join the speaker's platform. Kashmir Rally on Sept 15 Please consider attending Kashmir Freedom rally on Sunday, September 15, from 1-3pm at the State Capitol Building, 1 East Edenton St. in Raleigh. We will meet in front of the building by teh steps. This rally will protest the brutal violence by Hindu nationalist government of India (BJP - Bhartya Janta Party) against Kashmiri people. This rally on will invite Kashmiri community members who are cut off from their family members/friends in Kashmir and have heard reports of horrible human rights abuses there. Allies in Black Freedom Movement, Palestine Freedom Movement, anti-Islamophobia movement, and other movements will also be invited.
